Drink Race — adult party board game rules
Drink Race is a Premium party board game for adults. Every player gets a pawn based on their avatar, rolls a die and moves across one shared randomized board.
Spaces may contain a challenge, an individual or group penalty, special movement, an extra roll or a one-use shield. The app manages turn order and synchronizes the same board across every device.

How to prepare
A Premium host selects finish or endless mode, board length, intensity and penalty unit. Agree on boundaries first. Units can be sips, shots or servings of a non-alcoholic drink.
Rules step by step
- 1At the start, the game randomizes a fixed player order and a safe board layout.
- 2The active player rolls the die and their pawn advances by the result.
- 3The full card is revealed after the pawn stops. Complete it, select a target or settle the shown penalty.
- 4Declining a challenge is always allowed and converts it into its displayed 1–3 penalty.
- 5A one-use shield cancels one complete penalty. During a group penalty it protects only its owner.
- 6In finish mode everyone completes the current round after someone reaches the end. In endless mode the host ends the game manually.
Examples
- Take 2 sips or use your saved shield.
- Choose a player who takes 1 serving of a non-alcoholic drink.
- The player on your left drinks while you keep the turn moving.
- Complete the challenge or accept its matching penalty.
Host tips
- For a first game, choose light intensity and a 24-space board.
- Remind everyone that they may decline a task and choose a non-alcoholic drink.
- Never push the pace of drinking. Pause whenever the group needs it.
- Online, force-complete a settlement if an eligible shield owner does not respond.

Finish sprint
Choose 24 spaces and light intensity for a shorter session.
Long board
Choose 48 spaces for a larger group and a slower-paced game.
Endless loop
The board uses 36 spaces, counts laps and ends manually without declaring a winner.
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone need Premium?
No. Only the host selecting Drink Race needs Premium. Invited players can join without a subscription.
Can we play without alcohol?
Yes. Select servings of a non-alcoholic drink; all game mechanics remain the same.
What does a shield do?
It cancels one selected penalty completely. A player can hold at most one shield.
How is a finish tie resolved?
The farthest position after the round wins, followed by the earlier finish order.
